Adeline Swan

Adeline Swan, 96, passed away on February 23, 2018 at Meadows Place Assisted Living in Ellensburg. Funeral services was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2017 at the First Lutheran Church, 512 N. Ruby, Ellensburg. Graveside services and burial were later in Goldendale.

Adeline was born in Laona, Minnesota on May 23, 1921 to Clayton and Nora Peckham. Adeline was very independent and married early in 1938 to Wallace Brown. Verlyn, her first son, was born the following year. Adeline was divorced when she met Albin "Andy" Anderson in 1940 and they had four children. They moved to the valley in 1967 and settled in Kittitas a few years later.

Adeline (Andi to her customers) worked for many years as a waitress in the Thunderbird restaurant in Ellensburg. After Andy's passing in 1983, Adeline met Charles Swan. They were married in 1985 and lived happily until Charlie's death in 1999. Besides her family and friends, Adeline loved to play Bunco and Mexican train. She loved to watch CNN and solve crossword puzzles. Adeline enjoyed reading, whether it was the local newspapers, her favorite celebrity magazines, or a good book out in the yard under the shade of the apple tree.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Nora, husbands Wallace Brown, Andy Anderson, and Charles Swan, son Verlyn Brown, sister Avenelle Turner, brothers Clayton Peckham Jr. and Kenny Peckham. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Anderson-Clapper and Cookie (Brad) Ringe, sons Dale (Marilyn) and Keith Anderson, sister Noreen (Gary) Brown, and brother Neal (Glenda) Peckham. Adeline was blessed with grandchildren Kelly (Sam) Anthony, Mark (Trish) Anderson, Shawna (Ramzi) Karlous, Kory (Tara) McCoy, Brooke Ringe, Tyler Ringe and Andrea (Johnny Jaramillo) Ringe, Bob (Jude) Swan, Andy Swan, Pat Swan, Mary Swan. She also had 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren (with one more on the way) and many other nieces and nephews along the way. Memorial contributtions in Adeline's honor are suggested to Hospice Friends, 302 S. Main Street, Ellensburg, WA 98926 on behalf of Adeline, or Andy Anderson, or Charlie Swan.
