Betty Jean Croshaw

March 11, 1945 — May 4, 2021

Ellensburg, Washington

Betty Jean Croshaw (Jeannie), a devoted wife, mother and long- time resident of Ellensburg, Washington died at home, peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2021 at the age of 76.

Betty was born on March 11, 1945 to Ernest and Ruby Croshaw. Her family owned and operated a small farm in Ellensburg, Washington.  She loved helping her father in his garden or her mother in the kitchen. Mother and daughter worked side by side preparing meals to feed the hungry crew of farm hands.

Her mother taught her how to crochet which may have sparked her love of art.  Later in life she attended two years at an art school in Seattle.  When she wasn’t hard at work on the farm, she loved nothing more than to saddle up and go for long rides through the fields and next to the Yakima River. She became quite an accomplished rider.   As a teen she participated in the world famous, Ellensburg Rodeo Parade.

After graduating from Ellensburg High School, she met and married Robert (Bob) Mundy.  They lived on a farm in the Badger Pocket area of Ellensburg.  In 1963 they welcomed their first child Robert (Rob) Mundy and a year later, Babette Mundy (Babbi) was born.  A second son, Ian Loomis was born after they divorced.  Betty then met the love of her life, Mark Lee and they welcomed Susanne Crawford to the family.   Betty cherished her children and being a mom and a grandmother.

Betty was devoted to God and was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her faith never wavered even as her health declined and was unable to attend regular services. She died with the peace of knowing that God and her loved ones would be waiting for her.

Betty was a warm and loving woman.  She always wore a big smile.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her beloved kitty cats. No matter where she roamed, she always had a “cat” companion by her side.  Very few things gave her more joy than holding furry friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Ernest & Ruby Croshaw of Ellensburg, WA and her brother Ned Croshaw (Kay) of Arkansas.

Betty is survived by her husband; Mark Lee,  her children Robert Ernest Mundy (Dana) of West Richland, WA, Babette Jean Mundy (Babbi) of Ellensburg, WA, Ian Garth Loomis (Andrea) of Billings, MT and Susanne Marie Crawford  of Austin, Texas, her grandchildren, Ashley Dawn Leadbetter (Ryien) of Ellensburg, WA,  Tyler Scott Mundy of Kennewick, WA, Sean Robert Mundy (Ashley) of Reno, NV,   Justin Lee Burrus (Alese) of West Richland, Lindsey Marie Martin (Matthew) of Kennewick, WA, Jonathan Michael Bramstedt of Ellensburg,  Ruby June Crawford and Quinten Jay Crawford of Austin, Texas  and great-grandchildren, Wesson Eugene Leadbetter, Hunter Ryien Leadbetter, Trevor Ryien Leadbetter of Ellensburg, WA, Emerson Leeann Burrus, Grayson Layne Burrus, Payton Marie Burrus of West Richland, WA,  Alia Faye Mundy of Finley, WA and  Elias Walter Martin of Kennewick, WA.
