Cheryle Jean Hall, 76, of Cle Elum, passed away on July 7, 2021 at HomePlace Assisted Living in Oak Harbor, Washington. A celebration of Cheryle’s life will be held in early fall with details to be announced.
Cheryle was born on November 28, 1944 in Cle Elum, Washington to Carl & Mary (Minerich) West. She grew up in Upper County and graduated from Cle Elum-Roslyn High School. Following graduation, Cheryle married Walter Don Tenney and from that marriage her son Wayne was born. Mr. Tenney died in a tragic accident a few years after Wayne was born.
Cheryle was a “free spirit” in every respect and lived all over the western United States including Alaska, California and western Washington. She worked primarily in the field of hotel management and when she returned to Cle Elum in the early 2000’s, Cheryle became the manager of the Cle Elum Travelers Inn. She worked there for 10 years before her retirement in 2010.
Cheryle was an avid Seahawks fan, enjoyed playing computer games and adored her pets - three cats and one dog. Very rarely would you find her without a Diet Pepsi in her hand and a kind smile to share with you.
Cheryle is survived by her son Wayne Tenney and his partner, Dennis Nixdorf, Jr. of South Cle Elum; two grandsons and their spouses as well as four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Don Tenney, her parents as well as her brother, Carl Dean West.
Memorial contributions in Cheryle’s honor are suggested to the ARRF Animal Rescue, PO Box 670, Roslyn, WA 98941. Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Cle Elum has been entrusted with caring for Cheryle’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
