Connie Lafave

July 5, 2046 — November 27, 2017

Obituary Connie Lee LaFave, 71, lifetime Ellensburg resident, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017 at Cottage in the Meadow Hospice in Yakima. At Connie's request, no services will be held. Connie was born on July 5, 1946 in Ellensburg to Frank & Alice (Quicksal) Fangboner. She grew up and attended school in Ellensburg. She married Jerry Weyand and the young couple had three children - Vickie, Jammie and Frank. Sadly, Jerry was killed in a logging accident in 1964. After some time had passed, Connie met Fred LaFave and the couple married on July 5, 1966. In addition to welcoming all three of Connie's children as his own, Fred and Connie had another son, Rod. Connie loved to bowl, make ceramics and read. She also really, really enjoyed playing cards - especially pinochle. She also did water aerobics at the city pool for many years and in her younger years she and Fred enjoyed taking the kids camping around the holidays. She was also a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge. Connie worked outside the home from time to time but her greatest joy was found caring for her husband and family. She was a unique and remarkable woman and will be truly missed by all who knew her. Connie is survived by her husband and best friend of 51 years, Fred LaFave at the family home in Ellensburg; children Vickie (Mike) Dale of Tuscon, Arizona; Frank (Julie) LaFave of Marysville, Washington and Rod (Christina Main) LaFave of Ellensburg. She is also survived by her sister, Jan Bell of Ellensburg, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry Weyand, her daughter Jammie, brother Tommy Fangboner. Memorial contributions in Connie's honor are suggested to any local cause that benefits the community of Ellensburg. Steward & Williams Tribute Center has been entrusted with caring for Connie's family.
