Corrine (Wilson) Mehal, 90, of Ellensburg WA, went to be with her Father in Heaven on December 5, 2023.
Corrine was born on August 29,1933 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Earl Dee Wilson and Lula (Newberry) Wilson. She was the 4th of 10 children, raised alongside 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Corrine’s mother passed away before she was 12 months old, so her youngest memories were of her stepmother Lilly (Vaughn) Wilson.
Her early Elementary years were spent in Oklahoma playing ball and jacks, and hide and seek. When she was in 4th grade her family moved to Wyoming.
Corrine graduated high school in Superior, Wyoming in 1952. It was there that she met the love of her life, Stephen Mehal. They married at the Roman Catholic Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming on October 13, 1952.
Early in their marriage Steve’s service in the Navy brought them to Torrance, California where they purchased their first home and had their four children. Looking for a better place to raise their family, they moved to Ellensburg in 1966.
Corrine worked at the Thunderbird managing banquets for many years, there she made lifelong friendships. In later years she kept books for Steve’s diesel repair shop, B.C.&S. Service, Jim’s Glass and Alpine Portraits.
Corrine had a strong commitment to her family, community, country and Creator, all qualities she passed on to her children. She was an incredible host to family and friends, she opened her home willingly to all. Her home hosted many events and special moments throughout the years including weddings, wedding engagements, graduation celebrations, game nights with friends plus countless birthday parties and holiday gatherings. Corrine was an active member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. In her retirement she also enjoyed playing Bunco and Mexican Train with friends.
Corrine is survived by daughters; Dottie (Mike) Rogers, Deanna (Charles) Pringle; son Duane (Anne Goblet) Mehal; 10 grandchildren, Chelsea (Damian) Kelly, Nathan (Sara) Palm, Dane Rogers, Mason (Laura Koday) Rogers, Ian Weaver, Rachel (Trevor) Gromlich, Skyler (Kelly Kube) Mehal, Colin Pringle, Aidan (Sierra) Pringle, and Faith (Ethan) George; and 13 great-grandchildren, Anthony Mehal, Stone & Scarlett Kelly, Grayson Weaver, Elijah, Jonah, Silas & Obidiah Gromlich, Everett & Ellis Pringle, Oliver Palm, Theodore Koday-Rogers, and Cassidy George.
