Dale Wood

Richard Dale Wood, 80 years old, son of Willam Wood and Jean Saxby, and known to many of his close friends in Cle Elum, WA as “Woodsy”, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024. Dale was a lifelong resident of Roslyn and Cle Elum, where he met and married his High School Sweetheart Judy, who preceded him in death 10 years ago. Dale and Judy were married for over 50 years.

Dale retired with over 30 years as a Cle Elum Fire Department Volunteer, and over 30 years as a WA State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer (CVEO), where in 2006, he was awarded the WA State Commercial Enforcement Officer of the year.

For many years Dale enjoyed hunting, and fishing, with his family, and loved watching live sports, especially drag racing.

Dale is survived by his two children – son Mark Wood and wife Linda, daughter Melissa Del Valle and husband “Tito”, and 3 grandchildren - Drew, Giovanni and Desiree.

We are sure that Dale and Judy are once again reunited and dancing in heaven, so a celebration of life for both Dale and Judy will be announced in the coming months as the weather gets better.
