Dennis Aberle

Dennis Aberle, 76, passed away at his home in Ellensburg, WA on Saturday, November 10, 2018, following a heroic battle with cancer.

Dennis was born May 10, 1942, in Minot, ND, the son of Anton "Tony" and Anna (Feist) Aberle. He was raised on a farm and educated in Karlsruhe, ND. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Neiss of Balta, ND on October 18, 1961, Dennis served in the North Dakota National Guard where he was called to Fort Riley, KS during Cuban Missile Crisis. He also built a career over 25 years at Boeing working logistics on the Minute Man and MX missile systems around the country and England until his retirement.

After retiring he and his son Jay operated the Aberle Cattle Company raising grass fed beef in Ellensburg, WA. Dennis touched the lives of everyone he knew and far beyond. His hallmark smile, infectious wit and always friendly demeanor enamored everyone he knew. He had a special relationship with and loved and respected the Don Mays family and crew of the "Flying M" ranch.

Dennis survived by his children Jay (Brenda Mariner), Ellensburg WA; Serena (Tracy Zietz) Minot, ND; Curtis (Dee Leeks), San Antonio, TX; Paula (Mark Vye) Cheyenne, WY and Heidi Haslebeck, Cheyenne, WY. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Clarence (Amy), Kenneth (LorI); sisters Sally (Ben Mosser), Delores (Melvin Gefroh), Elaine (Leo) Neiss, Marcy (William) Watson; son-in-law Kurt Haselbeck; daughter-in-law Marie Brenden and his life long friend Judy Eckart. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna, wife Kathleen and brother in-law Leo Neiss. Memorial contributions in Dennis's honor are suggested to Hospice Friends, 302 S. Main Street, Ellensburg, WA 98926. Funeral services and burial in the family plot will be conducted next week in Minot, ND.
