Kris W. Brain, age 61, died unexpectedly on December 25, 2024 in Thorp, Washington.
Kris was the youngest of three sons born to Gene and Lillian Brain on June 20, 1963 in Bellevue, Washington. He grew up in Bellevue, spending all his summers and most of his weekends at the family ranch in the Taneum Canyon of Thorp, Washington. Kris was able to spend more time in Thorp when he continued his education in Ellensburg, Washington at Central Washington University, graduating with a degree in biology. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska for dental school at Creighton University where he received his DDS degree. After completion of dental school Kris moved back home to Washington and started Mount Si Dentistry in North Bend, Washington. Kris practiced dentistry there for 30 years until his retirement in 2023. Kris loved providing compassionate and gentle care to his patients and fun adventures with his dental team. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and Seattle-King County Dental Society.
Kris loved fishing, hunting, golf, snowmobiling, and skiing. He especially enjoyed many fishing adventures catching trout and salmon with his family growing up, family fishing contests in the Taneum Creek, fishing at Seiku in his jet boat as an adult, and fishing for Marlin and whatever he could catch in Mexico and Hawaii. Kris played guitar, drums, keyboards, and piano and loved playing music and teaching his niece Jaclyn songs on the guitar and piano. Kris also loved riding his motorcycles from his Suzuki 80 when he was younger to the Kawasaki 900 customized for some extra horsepower he had in high school. Kris also loved horseback riding and raising horses. He and his dad would work year around debating on the plan for breeding the best and fastest horses.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Brain. Kris is survived by his father Gene Brain, brothers Kim Brain and Kurt Brain, his niece Jaclyn Brain, and many close relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
