Elecia Jeanne Vaughn

May 15, 1986 — May 17, 2023

Ellensburg, Washington

Elecia Jeanne Vaughn, 37, of Ellensburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 N 8th St, Yakima, WA 98901

Elecia was born on May 15, 1986 in Auburn, Washington to Gregory & Cindy (Van Dusen) Vaughn.  Her growing up years were spent all over Washington, with a large part in Puyallup and eventually Naselle where she would graduate high school in 2004.

Following graduation, she worked for almost ten years as a dental assistant before enrolling at the PIMA Medical Institute, earning her associate’s degree to become a dental hygienist. Elecia loved working in the dental field and was currently employed by Swiftwater Dental in Cle Elum.

Elecia met Matt Femling a little over five years ago and the two hit it off almost instantly.  They eventually combined their households and Elecia became “mom” to Matt’s son, Nico, and she and Matt were also blessed with a daughter, Ariya.  At the time of her death, Elecia was 28-weeks pregnant with twin girls - Brooklynn and Blakeley - and they too lost their lives as a result of the accident.

Elecia had a very buoyant and expressive personality – she left a presence wherever she went.  She was an incredible mother, had the biggest smile, a heart of gold and was a very genuine and caring person.  She also strived for perfection in all that she did, including the numerous craft projects she undertook with her Cricut craft machine.

Elecia is survived by the love of her life Matt Femling and their children Nico and Ariya; mother Cindy Swanson and step-father Gordon Sawyer; father Greg Vaughn and step-mother Sue Vaughn; sister Brittanie Vaughn, brother Harland Van Dusen and his wife Tiffany; nieces Hyatt and Taelynn; step-brothers Jacob Butler, Tyler Butler and his daughter, Annie; and grandparents Carolyn & Paul O’Feery.  She also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Norman & Denise Vaughn.

A memorial fund has been set up in Elecia’s honor at Cashmere Valley Bank for those who wish to make a contribution for the ongoing support of Matt and the children. Donations can be made at any Cashmere Branch to the “Elecia Vaughn Memorial Fund”.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg.
