Frank M. Van Geystel, 79, longtime Elk Heights area resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, just 19 days after the passing of the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Kathy. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Frank was born in Seattle, Washington on May 14, 1939, one of six children born to Francis & Lillian (Shigley) Van Geystel. He grew up in the Georgetown area of Seattle and graduated from St. George's High School. From a young age, Frank enjoyed playing baseball and his love of sports continued for his entire life. After high school, Frank enlisted in the Washington National Guard and served for three years, receiving his honorable discharge in the spring of 1959.

He met Katherine Kincaid through some mutual friends and they married in Des Moines, Washington on September 19, 1960. They made their home in the Seattle/Kirkland area where Frank worked as a high-rise window cleaner for his entire career. He and Kathy were blessed with three daughters - Rebecca, Tamie and Fran. After Frank retired from window washing in 1998, he and Kathy moved to the Elk Heights area where they enjoyed their retirement. Frank absolutely loved to fish, enjoyed spending time out on the water boating as well as all things sports related. He was an avid fan of the University of Washington Huskies.

Frank is survived by his daughters Rebecca (Shawn) Bluher, Tamie Goad (Bob Osmonovich) and Fran (Lester) Santjer; grandchildren Jake (Jennie) Santjer, Lindsey Bluher, Matt Bluher, Travis Santjer, Coltin Santjer, Tanner Santjer and Bridget Goad, as well as great grandchildren Tucker and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, his parents and five siblings. Memorial contributions in Frank's honor are suggested to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
