It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Covey, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. Glenn departed this earthy world on December 14, 2024. Glenn’s kind soul and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A lover of classic rock, Glenn found joy in the timeless tunes of his favorite band, KISS, and was known for his infectious enthusiasm for all things music. He was also a devoted fan of the show the “Trailer Park Boys” often quoting his favorite lines by Ricky and the boys.
Glenn had a special bond with animals, particularly his roosters and beloved cats and dogs. His home was a sanctuary of love and care for many creatures through the years, and his animals brought him great joy.
Glenn was a gentle and caring spirit, always there for those who needed him. Perhaps Glenn’s greatest accomplishment was being the best big-brother possible to his younger brother Todd. His favorite pastimes were most certainly causing chaos with Todd, and then reflecting on said chaos over and over again with a twinkle in his eyes.
It is to the credit of his mother, Kay Covey, that Glenn, who experienced seizures and related health complications from childhood through his adult life, was able to attend mainstream school during a time in history when being differently-abled was less commonly accepted. Kay was an advocate for Glenn as a “mainstreamer” into the public school system which allowed Glenn to develop friendships and learn at a level which would not have been possible without Kay’s passionate advocacy for his best interests throughout the years.
Glenn’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy of kindness, humor, and love for all living things will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Glenn is survived by his mother, Kay, at the family home in Ellensburg; brother Todd (Tina) Covey of Othello; nieces Lauren (Peter) Anderson of Othello and Rachel (Drew) Scott of Moses Lake as well as his beautiful great-niece, Brooklyn Kay Anderson and great-nephew Jed Drew Scott. He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Covey, in 2022.
Rest in peace, Glenn. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.johnston-williams.com
