James Thomas Bruketta, 75, lifetime Ellensburg resident, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2022. A celebration of life will be held this spring with details to be announced.
Jim was born March 1, 1946 in Ellensburg to John & Mary (Staup) Bruketta. He grew up in Ellensburg and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1964. Following graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years before his honorable discharge.
After his discharge, Jim returned home to Ellensburg where he went to work for his father at John Bruketta Hay Company. It was there that Jim worked most of his career before founding Magnum Trucking, a long-haul trucking company that he operated until his retirement.
Following retirement, Jim spent many hours at the Flying J where he would drink coffee and swap stories with his friends. He was a very social person and many in town will miss his easy going ways, his helpful and generous heart and his friendly smile.
Jim is survived by his son Jamie and daughter-in-law Darci of Lostine, Oregon; daughter Trina of Enterprise, Oregon; grandsons Blaze and Harley as well as sisters Joanne, Marianne and Carol and his brother Terry. In addition to his brother Johnny, Jim was preceded in death by his infant son, Anthony Thomas Bruketta.
