James C. Crawford, 62, lifetime Ellensburg resident, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 due to a cardiac episode resulting in an auto accident.
Jim (to his family) and Jimmy (to his friends and co-workers) was born October 2, 1959 to Delbert and Ellen (Gage) Crawford the sixth of eight children. Jim enjoyed being outdoors and mountains were a favorite. He began his career as a heavy equipment operator working for Morgan and Son Earthmoving in 1983 until 2002 and transitioning to Belsaas and Smith Construction in July of 2003 where he was employed at the time of his passing.
Jim was preceded by his parents, sister Nancy, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by siblings John, of Yakima, Joe (Roylene), of Ellensburg, Venetta (Les) Miller, of Arizona, Kate, of Yakima, Lorene (Neil Jensen)Ball of Ellensburg, and Jeff (Serina) of Sea-Tac. Also surviving is his Uncle Seth Gage and Ebo his cherished black lab.
Although Jim never married or had children, he treasured time spent with his nieces and nephews, Guy, Josh, Dyllana, Brandy, Christopher, David, Amber, Lindsey, Jack, Cody, Jamie, and Brandon. They will miss him so.
Our hearts are broken by the passing of Jim. His memory will live in us forever. Rest easy, brother, uncle, and friend.
A graveside service to bid farewell to Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 25, 2022 at the High Valley Cemetery on Robinson Canyon Road. There will be a reception following at the Clymer Museum, 416 N. Pearl in Ellensburg.
