John Robinson beloved husband, dedicated father, grandpa “Papa John”, uncle and friend bravely ended his battle with Alzheimer’s on August 23, 2021 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee with his wife, Jackie, and family friend, Susan, at his side.
John was born in Kelso, Washington to Truman and Ruth Robinson. John and his sister Phyllis were raised in Longview where John graduated high school. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Portland State University attaining his accreditation as a CPA in 1972. His career focused on Hospital Finance, and he received several awards for his work...but his best reward was the people he worked with.
He had two children from his first marriage, Wendi and Aaron. John and Diane divorced in 1981.
In 1984 John found a new best friend in Jackie Teela. She became the love of his life and they married in 1985.
John was very social and he and Jackie loved to host friends and family in their home. They started out in Bellevue but soon moved to Wenatchee and later on to Ellensburg where John went from a city boy to country overnight! He had a long love of dogs, especially miniature Schnauzers. John was happy helping Jackie create and live her dream of a small horse farm where he really learned to love horses as well, though bicycles or motorcycles were his preference.
John had many friends that spent quality time with him over the years on projects & sports (Bill, Allan & Tom), cars & computers (Ken). John loved cars...Porsches to diesel trucks! He was active and loved many sports. A highlight was attending 2 winter Olympics (2002 Salt Lake and 2010 Vancouver BC) cheering on their nephew, Jeremy Teela who competed in Biathlon.
John was a caring man to the very end, lovingly referring to Jackie as “the woman I love”. John loved God and studying the bible. Participating in his church was an important part of his life.
He was trusting, joyful, giving, committed and enthusiastic to share his knowledge; he also enjoyed making others smile and laugh. He lived life in the moment so clearly the last few years and conveyed well the importance of living a joyous life with the help of God. He will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his wife Jackie, son Aaron, ten nieces and nephews and 4 grandchildren along with many extended family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Ruth, sister Phyllis and daughter Wendi.
