Katherine K. Van Geystel, 75, longtime Elk Heights area resident, passed away at her home on Friday, March 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kathy was born in Seattle, Washington on October 20, 1943 to William and Mary (Schoenmaker) Kincaid. She grew up in Seattle and attended St. George's. She met Frank Van Geystel through some mutual friends, and they were married in Des Moines, Washington on September 19, 1960. After Frank retired in 1998, they moved to the Elk Heights area where they've enjoyed retirement since that time. Kathy enjoyed sewing, boating around the San Juan Islands, spending time with her family and caring for her dogs. She was an excellent cook who was always experimenting in the kitchen. And, although she never drank it, Kathy enjoyed winemaking as a hobby.
