Lauren Gabrielle Larson

March 27, 2005 — September 16, 2021

Ellensburg, Washington

It is with great sadness that our family bids farewell to our beautiful angel, Lauren Gabrielle.  At the young age of 16, Lauren Gabrielle Larson went to the arms of Jesus on September 16, 2021 in Ellensburg, Washington.

Lauren entered our world on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005.  She was born in Burien, Washington at Highline Community Hospital and weighed 10 lbs., 9 ounces at birth.  Lauren Gabrielle was a beautiful baby and her Mommy said she was her angel from the moment she held her!

Lauren’s first years of life were in the Ballard/North Seattle area. Her pre-school and kindergarten years were spent on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington. Lauren then lived in Huntersville, North Carolina from ages 6 to 10.  She made many close friends during her time in the Carolinas.  At age 11, Lauren moved back to her home state of Washington and attended Ellensburg Christian School for Grades 5 and 6.  She continued her education at Morgan Middle School where she was a member of the dance team and played fast-pitch softball.   Lauren then attended Ellensburg High School.  Then, due to the Covid Pandemic, Lauren attended the Whitmore School, an online private High School.

Lauren, fondly called “Lolo” by her family, was a creative, witty, generous, loving, and deeply thoughtful child.  She lit up the room when she smiled.  As a younger child she had an affinity for animals and the outdoors.  Lolo loved picking up worms, putting bugs in a jar, and filling her pockets with rocks.  She loved to camp, build fires, and hang in a hammock under the stars.

Lauren loved her friends and would spend all of her money on gas to be with them or at the drive-thru to feed them.  Her giving heart was a mile wide and an ocean deep.  Lauren’s friends say she always made them laugh.

Miss Lauren’s creative abilities were outstanding.  She drew many detailed sketches that showed her amazing talent as an artist.  Lauren thrived on music.  Whether it was in her room, her bathroom, or her SUV…her eclectic choices of tunes were always thumping!

One wish Lauren often vocalized for her future was to have a friend join her to be a college roomie in California.  With her long blonde hair, dramatic almond eyes, and captivating smile…Malibu would have been the perfect backdrop for her unpretentious beauty.

Her untimely death has shocked her family, friends, and our community.  Our prayer is that the distributors of these deadly, fake Fentanyl laced Percocet pills be criminally prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Bobbie Smith and her paternal great grandmother, Jean Wright.  She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Pauline Burnett and Gerald Larson.

Lauren’s large extended family loved her beyond measure.  She will be missed tremendously, but the most broken of hearts is that of her Mom, Brooke Waldock (previously Fleming).  She is also survived by her father Mark Larson, brothers Breck Larson and Balin Larson, her Grammie and Papa (maternal grandparents) Royal and Vickie Waldock, aunties Brittany (Mike) Thovsen, Amber (Keith) Mayfield, and Brenda (Chris) Cothary, as well as her cousins Gage and Jayden Mayfield, Dillan Thovsen, and Josie and Allie Cothary.  And not to be forgotten, her best four-legged buddy, Bolt.

There will be a public viewing for Lauren on Thursday, September 30 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home, 301 E. Third Avenue, Ellensburg.   A Celebration of Life, with reception immediately following, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1 at Mercer Creek Church, 1410 N. Main Street, Ellensburg.  Lauren will be laid to rest in a private graveside service on Saturday, October 2 in Enumclaw, Washington.
