LeRoy Bernard Morrison

October 25, 1928 — October 20, 2024

Ellensburg, Washington

LeRoy (Roy) Morrison passed away peacefully at home on October 19th 2024, just a week shy of his 96th birthday. Born in Kittitas, Roy lived his entire life in the Kittitas Valley. His family was one of the first to farm in the Badger Pocket area. They had a section of land on the corner of Upper Badger Pocket and Morrison roads. The original house still stands today. Roy told stories of life out there; no running water or electricity, and the family had to move into Kittitas during the winters because there were no plows to clear the roads.

In 1951 Roy married his sweetheart Patricia (Pat) McPherson, and they were married for 41 years, until her death in 1992. Roy left farming to work for Jerrold Electronics, developing the cable television system in the community. He ultimately became the manager and enjoyed many years developing and expanding cable systems in Kittitas County, Idaho and California.

Roy and the family loved camping and vacationing in favorite spots throughout the northwest. After retiring in 1986, he and Pat became snowbirds, spending winters in Arizona. In recent years, Roy enjoyed working in the garden, tending his roses, and helping his daughter Lori around her rural property.

Roy is survived by his daughter Lori Morrison, and sons, Larry, Lonny and Lenny and their children. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Roy’s honor to KVH Hospice or F.I.S.H Meals on Wheels. Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnston & Williams of Ellensburg.
