Linda was born on March 27, 1955 in Spokane, Washington, the youngest of five children born to Elwin & Wilma (McClure) Sahli. She grew up in Spokane and, following school, started first working for Northern Air Freight before starting her 25 year career with the Breast Diagnostic Center in Federal Way, retiring in 2019.
Linda married Jim Schumacher in 1972 and they were blessed with wonderful two children - Jason and Tammy. In 1997, some years after her divorce from Jim, Linda met and fell in love with the love of her life Loren James. They married on May 17, 2002 and made Ronald their permanent home in 2013.
Whether it was snowmobiling in the winter, gardening in the spring, boating and soaking in the sun during the summer months or enjoying the crisp fall air, Linda enjoyed all of the seasons and the beauty that the Upper County offered. She was an avid crafter with her friends at the Eagles Craft Club in Cle Elum, enjoyed sewing, and loved the spirit of Christmas and holiday Hallmark movies. She will be remembered by all for her laugh and infectious smile, not to mention her zucchini bread and jams she would make. Her children and grandchildren were very much the highlight of her life and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them.
Linda is survived by her husband Loren James of Ronald; children Jason (Laurie) Schumacher of Enumclaw, Tammy Schumacher (fiance Ed Marceau) of Maple Valley and Corey James of Tumwater; grandchildren Blake, KK, Hunter, Kaleb and Cole as well as two great grandchildren, Kailer and Zaylee. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Donny, Wayne, Wesley and Karen as well as her granddaughter Mattea Schumacher.
Memorial contributions in Linda’s honor are suggested to the Gretchen Weller Foundation, PO Box 1762, Ellensburg, WA 98926.
Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Linda’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
