Linda June McKean, 75, lifetime Cle Elum resident, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the T&R Adult Family Home in Issaquah where she had resided for the last several years. Viewing will be Friday, January 22 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home in Cle Elum. Due to current restrictions, in-person attendance at the Rosary (7:00 p.m. Friday, January 22) and Mass (10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23) will be limited by invite, but a livestream of each event will be available for the community at www.johnston-williams.com
Linda was born on June 6, 1945 in Ellensburg, the second child born to Adolph “Cavy” and Geraldine “Geri” (Halverson) Cavallini. She was raised and attended school in Cle Elum, graduating from Cle Elum High School in 1963. While in high school, Linda participated on the drill team as a baton twirler.
Linda married Marvin “Del” McKean on September 12, 1963 and they made their home in Seattle for a few years before returning to the Upper County in 1975, establishing the family homestead off of Nelson Siding Road. Linda worked as a waitress at the Sunset Cafe for many years, officially “retiring” in the early 2000’s. As her health declined, Linda moved to Issaquah in 2008 to be closer to her daughter.
Linda was a longtime member of the Cle Elum Eagles where she enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She was a den mother to the local Cub Scout Troop. Linda and Del enjoyed social gatherings and dancing with the Tanda Club. Linda and Geri would take trips to Las Vegas to enjoy the warm weather and slot machines. Linda enjoyed her daughter’s dance competitions and making costumes for them. She regularly volunteered with the Ellensburg Youth Ballet. Linda had a special place in her heart for the ballet and was a regular attendee at ballet performances in Seattle.
Linda is survived by her children Lori (John) Calhoun of Issaquah, Mike (Cori) McKean of Ellensburg and Mari LeSure of Quincy; grandchildren Anneke, Simone, Tommy, Lane, Mia, Kai, Paiten and Griffin as well as her brothers Larry Cavallini of Renton and Frankie (Suzanne Peters) Kladnik of Lakewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Del as well as her parents.
Linda was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Cle Elum, having been baptized, confirmed and married there. For that reason, the family would request memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Church, 303 W. Second St, Cle Elum, WA 98922.
Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Cle Elum has been entrusted with caring for Linda’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
