Marjorie M. McKenzie

May 9, 1929 — January 14, 2025

Ellensburg, Washington

Marjorie “Marge” McKenzie, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on May 9, 1929, in Ellensburg, Washington, to Alice and Marion Champie, Marge married Howard Kaynor in 1947. They remained together until his passing in 1993. In 1994, Marge married Alfred McKenzie, and they were together until his passing in 2014.

Marge lived most of her adult life at their family home on Tjossem Road, which became a cherished gathering place for family and friends, hosting both large and small gatherings, including weddings.

Marge was a hardworking and resourceful woman who enjoyed tending to her garden, growing a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, especially roses. She often shared her cherished memories of her childhood especially with her Uncle Freddy on her grandparents' farm, “Cottonwood Farm,” on Lyons Road.

As a dedicated and baptized member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1955, Marge’s unwavering faith and love for God were clearly evident in her daily life. Even in her later years, when her health had declined, she continued to attend meetings regularly, inspiring others with her commitment. Her love for God and His promises motivated her to share in the public ministry of Jehovah’s Witnesses. When her health no longer allowed it, she spent her time writing encouraging letters to others in the community. She spoke with conviction about the Bible’s promise of life on earth without sickness, pain, or death (Revelation 21:3-4).

Marge is survived by her loving children: Stephen (Sherrie) Kaynor, Douglas Kaynor, Daniel (Wanda) Kaynor, Judith (Nick) Heineck, David (Kathleen) Kaynor and her stepson Robert (Julie) McKenzie. She is also survived by seven of her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Marge lived a long and fulfilling life, and her family and friends look forward to seeing her again in the resurrection promised by God's Son Jesus at Acts 24:15.
