Our beloved Meletta Lahaie, 53, of Ellensburg, went home to be with Jesus on March 30, 2021. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Meletta was born on April 10, 1967 in Renton, Washington to Frank & Marlece Hart. She graduated from Selah Bible Baptist School and, at age 18, immediately started training in her life’s passion of cosmetology and hair styling. She was a beloved hairdresser and thrived at helping people feel and look great. She was passionate about spending time gathering with friends and family, especially while camping and glamping. She was blessed to share 31 years of marriage with the love of her life, Russ Lahaie, in Ellensburg.
Meletta had a special way of making folks feel accepted and loved. She loved shopping and had a knack for choosing the most meaningful gifts for others. Her search for the perfect Christmas gifts usually began each January 1st and continued throughout the year.
Her faith in God was important to her and during her short battle with cancer she encouraged family and friends to lean on Jesus for strength.
She is survived by her husband Russ; son Colton and daughter Cara; granddaughter Araya; mother Marlece Hart; sisters Malisa & Mikki as well as many others in her collective family who will all miss her joy and laughter as she joins her father, Frank Hart, in Heaven.
The family wishes to express their many thanks for the outpouring of love and support from friends and community. A GoFundMe has been set up to assist the family with expenses and can be found at https://bit.ly/3uo9Lur
Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Meletta’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
