Michael Eric Bacon, 50, of Ellensburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 19, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home in Ellensburg. Livestreaming will begin at 1:55 p.m. at www.johnston-williams.com
Mike was born on December 31, 1969 in Fort Worth, Texas, the youngest of four children born to Patrick Edward & Marcia Jean (Carter) Bacon. Due to his father being in the Air Force, Mike grew up all over the world, spending much of his youth in California and Peru before finishing school in Edmonds, Washington.
Following high school, Mike began his long and successful career as a press operator in the commercial printing industry. It was while he was working at Trade Products in Lynnwood that he met and fell in love with his co-worker, Cindy Householder, marrying on May 19, 2001 in Everett. After moving to Ellensburg in 2003, Mike continued to commute to the westside for work before accepting a pressman position in Wenatchee.
In 2018, Mike left the printing industry to drive the bus for his wife’s business, Messy Mutts Mobile Dog Grooming. Mike and Cindy worked together to provide exceptional dog grooming services to their clients. He always had a smile on his face and a good joke to share. His dream was to someday open a dog rescue.
Mike was a very adventurous person and enjoyed riding dirt bikes, skiing, shooting guns and enjoying fine cigars. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan, taking many trips on his Harley. As a father, Mike was very, let’s just say “passionate”, about being involved in his girl’s sporting activities while they were in school – sometimes too passionate. He enjoyed golfing, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks and UW Huskies and was also an excellent BBQ chef.
Mike always made an impression – he had a personality that was larger than life and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy, at the family home in Ellensburg; daughters Ashley of Renton and Katelynn of Duvall; his mother Marcia Bacon of Texas and sisters Denise Luna of Texas, Renae Charpentier of California and Annette (Jim) Lunn of Lynnwood. He is also survived by his loyal dog companions Chuck and Ember. He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial contributions in Mike’s honor are suggested to ARRF Animal Rescue, PO Box 670, Roslyn, WA 98941
