Michele C. Keaton, 49, longtime Ellensburg resident, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2021. A private family service will be held.
Michele was born on August 6, 1971 in San Leandro, California, the second of two children born to Dale & Clara (Hammond) Ball. When Michele was two, the family moved to Ellensburg where she attended Ellensburg schools, graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1989. While working at KFC in Ellensburg during her high school years Michele met Andy Keaton. They fell in love and married on September 19, 1992.
Michele worked as a teller at Yakima Federal Credit Union for a number of years and also ran an in-home daycare after her son, Kody, was born. In 2001, Michele closed the daycare and went to work doing the books for Andy’s businesses - Cle Elum Collision and later Cle Elum Towing.
Michele enjoyed anything having to do with her family including camping at Banks Lake, Saturday night poker games and spoiling them with her special recipe for lemon bars.
Michele is survived by her husband, Andy; sons Kody (Cassie) Keaton and Karson Keaton; her grandson, Kellen Keaton, who was born on the day that Michele passed away; brother Michael (Lynn) Ball; parents Dale & Clara Ball, all of Ellensburg, as well as nieces Acasia and Lexi and nephews Austin, Michael and Ethan.
Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Michele’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
