Nick Anthony Mandelas, 82, passed peacefully in his sleep on February 17, 2021 at Yakima Memorial Hospital. Born in the Kittitas Valley on October 31,1937 to Gust and Mary Mandelas, he was the third of five children.

He found his niche while working at Brad & Burke Heating and Air Conditioning. Nick later started his own company and began taking care of families and businesses all over town.
Camping, fly fishing, hunting and boating with family were his favorite pastimes. He made sure that laughter rang over the water when they were together. Being a lifelong Ellensburger (not the hamburger), Nick loved the outdoors. His daily routine often found him with a cup of coffee and a donut using binoculars to watch the wildlife in the hills. As he drove his route, he kept an eye on the nearby livestock and often stopped to talk to his neighbors.
Known for being willing to tackle anything, Nick purchased property and built his own home. He became a gentleman rancher. He was a quiet man, who valued family and his many friends. Demonstrating great integrity Nick became the primary caregiver to his mother before she passed.
Nick is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lemonia, “Big” Uncle Nickolas Mandelos, two Sister in laws; Patricia, and Victoria Mandelas, and niece Jane Christine Mandelas.
