Olga Kathleen Newton was born November 21, 1933 in Ronald, Washington, to Olga and Slava Gregorich. She passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Cle Elum, Washington. Olga grew up in Ronald and lived there most of her life. Olga was the youngest of four children, Dorothy, Joseph and Angeline, and her Niece Janice Jarvie Williams, who was raised as her sister.

Olga was married to Robert Newton for many years of her life. Together they had three children - son Larry (Susan Zackovich), and daughters, LuAnn (Keith) Davis and Lori (Mark) Peerboom. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chloe (Davin) Pena, Trevor Stine, Collin Stine, Mackenzie (Carson) Crooks, Shelby Peerboom and Riley Peerboom; great-grandchildren Callahan and Eloise; her sister Janice Williams and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Olga had many jobs over the years, including waitress, legal secretary, office clerk, and postal employee. She started working for Cle Elum Roslyn Schools in 1970 as a para educator. After her retirement, she worked at Cle Elum Drug and volunteered at the upper county Co Op preschool playing piano. Olga shared her lifelong passion for music, playing piano in various bands and locations throughout the upper county. At 16, Olga started her first band with her brother playing guitar, and her friend, Rudy Pasquan, playing the accordion. Later, she played with the Louie O Trio.

Olga was proud to be named the 2011 Pioneer Queen. Olga was an active member of the Cle Elum Eagles, contributing to the community in various ways. In her free time, Olga enjoyed dancing, crocheting, baking and spending time with friends. Olga was a vibrant spirit who cherished her family, friends and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her for her lively energy and warm heart.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorial contributions in Olga’s honor are suggested to the Cle Elum Eagles #649 Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, 220 Pennsylvania Ave, Cle Elum, WA 98922.
