Olga Padavich

Olga Padavich was born on November 23, 1918 in Bear Creek, Montana to Bartol and Aloisia Medved. She was the youngest of six children. After 100 full and loving years Olga passed away peacefully in her home in Cle Elum, February 8, 2019. She grew up in Cle Elum, finished high school in 1936 and completed a nursing degree from Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima. She worked in Yakima and Swedish Hospital in Seattle before settling into work at a medical clinic in Cle Elum. By chance she met Tony Padavich who came in for mustard plaster treatment. They married June 19, 1948 and raised their three sons in Cle Elum. At the age of 76, Tony passed away November 23, 1986. Although she may not have realized it, she touched the lives of many from all corners of the world. She welcomed all to her table and expressed her love through her cooking with many wonderful homemade meals, care packages filled with chocolate chip cookies and her memorable almond roca, shared with bus loads of high school basketball players, soldiers in Vietnam, college students, and grandchildren. She loved them all and treated them as her own and in turn, she was loved and respected. Her family is heartbroken to be without her, happy to have had her for all these years and so very thankful that she is at peace. Olga leaves behind her sons, Paul Padavich (Diana), Gary Padavich and Craig Padavich (Amy); her grandchildren, Adrienne Padavich, Katie Padavich, Stephanie Sanchez (Hector), Melissa Padavich, Anthony Padavich and Erin Padavich (David); nieces and nephews, Bob Maynick (Carolyn), Jerry Medved (Pat), Mike VanEaton (Kay), Michael Medved (Austin), Renee Hill (Mark Bierek), Davene Rauschmier (Randy), and Launa Wilson (John); as well as many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. All remembrances and celebrations of life will take place in Cle Elum. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 12-5 pm at Cascade Funeral Home, followed by Rosary Services at 7 pm, St. John's Catholic Church. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 20th at 11 am, St. John's Catholic Church, followed by graveside services at Laurel Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family suggests making donations to Olga's favorite charities, Seattle Children's Hospital or Union Gospel Mission.
