Paul Laverne Carlson

December 19, 1934 — January 15, 2022

Kittitas, Washington

The world lost the kindest human on January 15, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. when Paul Laverne Carlson passed away at the KVH Hospital in Ellensburg.

Paul was born in Portland, Oregon on December 19, 1934 to Rosco & Emma B. (Becker) Carlson.  He grew up in Granger, Washington and later served in the United States Air Force for four years before his honorable discharge.  He spent 29 years driving for Greyhound Bus and another 19 years driving for Charter Bus Company. Paul was not someone who worried as he believed everything would work out as it should.

Paul met the love of his life, Patsy, in 1978 at Aunt Mabel’s Cafe in Ellensburg. She has been his partner and wife for 44 years. They spent their lives between Kittitas and Ellensburg.  Paul loved his huge extended family and enjoyed home cooked meals, family gatherings, football and working with wood.  After retiring from driving bus, he spent time working his land, driving his tractor, and irrigating.

Paul is survived by his two sons, Steve Carlson, and Mark Carlson as well as his six stepchildren - Carl Ogg, Tim Ogg, Don Huss, Melody Shaff, Julie Ader and Pam Haggin. He was a grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Johnston & Williams Funeral Home of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Paul and his family.  Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com or mailed to the family at PO Box 1169, Kittitas WA 98934.
