Rodney Riddle

September 8, 1956 — February 5, 2018

Rodney Riddle  61, lifetime Ellensburg resident, passed away at his home on Monday, February 5, 2018. Viewing will be Friday, February 9 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Steward & Williams Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Ellensburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10 also at the church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the church parish hall.

Rod was born on September 8, 1956 in Ellensburg, Washington to Robert & Joan (Noble) Riddle. He grew up in Ellensburg and played football for Ellensburg High School, graduating with the class of 1975. After high school, Rod worked as a reserve deputy for the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office and with his brother, Ken, running a rock crushing outfit. Rod spent most of his working life for area farmers and enjoyed the time he spent outside.

Rod enjoyed shooting guns, studying military history, building beautiful wood projects, drawing and loading shells. He also enjoyed working on his pickup truck with his good friend Todd Hughes.

Rod is survived by his mother, Joan Riddle; sister Terri (Kevin ) Mohan; brothers Ken (Sue) Riddle, Scott (Rosie) Riddle and Jim (Vonda) Riddle, all of Ellensburg. He is also survived by his good friend Todd Hughes, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Riddle. Memorial contributions in Rod's honor are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or to a local charity of choice.
