Sandra Ellen Cooke, 63, lifelong resident of the Cle Elum area, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at her South Cle Elum home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Cle Elum Community Church with Pastor Worth Wilson officiating. Urn committal will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
Sandra was born in Ellensburg on November 4, 1959 to Dexter and Carol (Renfro) Cooke. After graduating from Cle Elum High School, she attended Central Washington University and later the ITT Technical Institute. During her high school and college years, Sandra worked at McKean’s Drive In, and following graduation from ITT, Sandra went to work for the City of Roslyn, then leaving the City, she started working at the Roslyn Telephone Company, which turned into a lifelong career working for the Inland Telephone / Networks / Cellular companies. During her 36 years working for the “Inland” companies, she developed many close friends there.
Sandra enjoyed crafting, playing games, spending time with friends and family. She very much loved her cats and especially enjoyed sharing pictures and stories about her “furry kids”. Sandra was a tender hearted and loving person who was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Sally (Jeff) Keilman; brothers Alan (Pamela Coleman) Cooke, Steve (Deanne) Cooke and Lynn (Deana) Cooke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who knew her as “Auntie”.
Memorial contributions in Sandra’s honor are suggested to the ARRF Animal Rescue shelter in Roslyn.
