Ronald, Washington

Sandra Denise (Young) Rosecrans passed away peacefully August 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. A celebration of Sandy’s life will take place Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Cle Elum Community Church, 201 East Third Street in Cle Elum from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Sandy was born September 13, 1960 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Her family moved to Seattle three years later where her father worked for Boeing. When she was 14, the family moved to Tehran, Iran as part of a work assignment for Boeing. While residing there, Sandy attended a boarding school in Austria. There she formed some of her fondest memories, traveling around nearby countries in Europe, engaging in their different cultures and making many friends.

Her family moved back to Seattle in 1977 where she finished her education and graduated from Evergreen High in 1978. Shortly after graduation, while working together at Roxbury Lanes, she met her partner for life, Alan Rosecrans. Alan and Sandy married April 5, 1980. They had two sons, Jason and Jeremy and a daughter, Cassie. In 1992 they moved their family east to Driftwood Acres near Lake Cle Elum. They enjoyed their quiet life, living in the mountains and taking advantage of the various recreation activities, essentially in their backyard.

Sandy worked at the Cle Elum Safeway for 14 years, greeting her many regular customers with her outgoing personality and wit. She later worked for Suncadia, forming lasting friendships with her fellow employees. Sandy also volunteered with HopeSource where she discovered a passion for serving her community and helping individuals in need.

Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Young Jr. She is survived by her husband, Alan; children Jason Rosecrans (his former spouse Monique Strand Rosecrans), Jeremy (Melanie) Rosecrans and Cassie (Brandon) Turner; her mother Mary Young; her two brothers Stanley (Que) Young III and Robert (Lisa Junglov) Young and grandchildren Tracy, Kaden, Benjamin, Peyton, Makenna, Lane and Grady.

Memorial contributions in Sandy’s honor are suggested to Cle Elum HopeSource, 110 N Pennsylvania Ave, Cle Elum, WA 98922.
