Sharon Leonard went peacefully home to be with her Loving Savior on January 17, 2019. She was a Godly and loving example to her family, church, and many friends. She was born on September 17, 1938 to Erwin and Thelma Walworth in Corunna, Michigan.
She is survived by her brother, Merlin Walworth; her sister, Linda (Leonard) Cook; her brother, Alan (Sue) Walworth; her daughter-in-law KrisAnn Leonard, her son Randy (Stephanie) Leonard, her son, Eric (Ryann) Leonard, her daughter, Jenny (Jerry) Bell, her daughter, Christina (Mike) Simmons, and her son, Jon (Lisa) Leonard. She is also survived by sixteen beautiful grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Thelma Walworth; her husband of 55 years, Wesley Leonard; her son, Chris Leonard; her sister, Carol Malone; and her brothers, Don Walworth and Clare Walworth.
She married Wesley in May 1960. She loved music and she greatly enjoyed playing the accordian, piano and violin. She especially enjoyed teaching her children action songs and dancing around with them to the music. She taught them songs about Jesus and although it was a lot of work, she practiced many hours with them to sing together as a family for several churches. They were commonly known as "The VonLeonard Family Singers" She also loved animals and enjoyed training and riding her horses. You would often find her out in the horse pasture (in bare feet) working with her horses, or with bunnies in her pockets, or petting the dogs. She also loved sewing and crafts. She would make all of her children matching outfits for Christmas every year.
Friends gathered for Memorial Service with the family on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Nile Valley Community Church, 60 Bedrock Lane, Naches, WA. 98937 Steward & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Sharon's family.
