Sharon Jean Wies, 77, of Ellensburg, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2020. A private scattering ceremony of Sharon’s ashes will be held at a later date.
Sharon was born on February 11, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington to Robert & Grace (Chrittenden) Wies. She grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School in 1961. After her graduation, she worked as a secretary for American Plywood before accepting a position with Bon Marche as an assistant buyer for ladies’ accessories.
Sharon owned and operated the Hartline Recreation Café in Hartline, Washington for many years until her “first retirement” in 1994. She later went to work for Laurent’s Sun Village Resort until her second and final retirement in 2015 when she moved to Ellensburg to be closer to her many grandchildren.
Sharon’s first marriage to Bill Laudenglos blessed her with two sons, Jeff and Gary, and her marriage to Al Morales brought his son Franko to the family and also blessed her with her daughter Sara. But the true love of Sharon’s life was Jack Hoffman who had two children of his own – Julie and John. Sharon and Jack blended their families together and enjoyed 33 years together before Jack passed away in November 2015.
Sharon loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She also spent many hours in the garden, enjoyed the company of her cats but most of all, she loved spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could.
Sharon is survived by her children – Jeff Laudenglos and Gary Laudenglos of Tacoma; Sara Holloway of Ellensburg; Franko Morales of Tacoma; Julie Duthie of Seattle and John Hoffman of Spokane as well as numerous grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kathy Smith, Marly Kullman and Russell Wies. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions in Sharon’s honor are suggested to the Ellensburg Animal Shelter, 1007 Industrial Way, Ellensburg, Washington 98926. Steward & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with caring for Sharon’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.steward-williams.com
