Taylor Burnett Farrell was born in Ellensburg on March 16, 1984, the son of Tim and Quenby Farrell. He was the sixth generation of the Farrell family residing in the Kittitas Valley. As a child, Taylor developed a keen interest in the outdoors, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, uncles and cousins. An avid outdoorsman, Taylor and his family enjoyed annual summer fishing trips to the San Juan Islands and Tofino, British Columbia. Many days were spent catching salmon, halibut, cod and crab. This tradition lived on with annual family trips to Westport for fishing and razor clamming trips. Taylor also enjoyed being a hunting guide, and some of his happiest moments were taking new people out hunting and introducing them to the outdoors.
Taylor attended Ellensburg High School and Washington State University where he studied pre-dentistry and earned two bachelor's degrees in Zoology and Chemistry as well as a Spanish minor. During his time at WSU, Taylor really came into his own. Pullman was his playground and was the perfect setting for the multitude of outdoor activities he enjoyed, including hunting, fishing, spending time on the water, and charming the ladies with his outgoing personality and ability to draw people out of their shells.
Taylor was always the life of the party and the best host - always making sure everyone had a drink in their hand. One of our favorite family quotes was when then five-year-old Taylor asked the Easter Bunny, "So, can I get you a drink or something?" Taylor loved to travel, and we enjoyed many trips to Mexico, the Caribbean and South America with the entire family. One of his favorite trips was a mission trip to do dental work in Guinea, West Africa. He also studied abroad in Costa Rica and continued to visit and speak to his host family.
Taylor leaves behind his grandmother, Bee Bonow, parents Tim and Quenby Farrell, sister Morgan Stroh, brother-in-law James Stroh, and his trusted hunting dog Lola. He is preceded in death by his grandparents James and June Farrell, grandfather Bo Bonow, Uncle Dr. Pat Farrell, and cousins Christopher and Rory Farrell. The celebration of life for Taylor Farrell will be held at the Teanaway room at the fairgrounds on Saturday, December 9th at 3:00 PM.
