Violet was born on April 20, 1922 in Cle Elum, the youngest of 11 children born to Polish immigrants Frank & Mary (Polk) (Chicklinsky) Fudacz.  She was raised in Cle Elum and graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1941.  Shortly after her graduation, Violet married John “Tuffy” Maybo and they made their home in Cle Elum.  Violet was primarily a homemaker but also worked for many years at McKean’s Drive-In.

Violet enjoyed cooking, especially her pierogies and anything that got her outdoors including working in her garden, hunting for mushrooms, picking berries and raising chickens.  She also enjoyed traveling, whether it was the winters she spent in Arizona with her sisters, trips to Hawaii and Reno or even camping and taking drives to Teanaway to visit family.

VIolet was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a longtime member of the Cle Elum Eagles, the Polish National Alliance and the VFW Auxiliary.

Violet is survived by her daughter Shirley (Gary) Larimer of Cle Elum; grandsons Kent Larimer and Kevin Larimer, both of Roslyn; great grandsons Karter and Kaiden, a special niece Janice Cramer as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, two brothers, five stepsisters, and two stepbrothers.

Memorial contributions in Violet’s honor are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 303 W. Second, Cle Elum, WA 98922.  Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Cle Elum has been entrusted with caring for Violet’s family.  Online condolences may be left at www.johnston-williams.com
