Virginia Mary "Mickey" Woodworth, 91, of Ellensburg, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Kittitas Valley Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Viewing was at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Mickey was born on January 4, 1927 in Seattle, Washington, the first of five children born to Edward & May Ninneman. She attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and Holy Angels High School. Mickey worked for the Seattle Star newspaper where she met her husband, Howard. They married on January 25, 1951 prior to Howard leaving for the Korean War. After his return they moved to Pasco, then back to Seattle and finally to Ellensburg to be closer to family. Mickey's passion was her family first, followed by her custom knitting.
Mickey is survived by her husband, Howard; children and their spouses Lindy (JR) Phillips, Rick Woodworth, Bill (Chris) Woodworth, Connie (Mac) Campbell, Barbara (Danny) Sullivan and Ginny (Brian) Glidden. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, siblings Marilyn Heflin, Margaret Herman and Ed Ninneman, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Charlotte Sollars. Memorial contributions in Mickey's honor are suggested to St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Ellensburg.
