Johnston & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory holds a permit authorizing us to scatter cremated remains in the Columbia River. While insurance requirements keep us from taking your family with us on the boat, you can take comfort in knowing the scattering is completed under our direct supervision.



Every scattering on the Columbia River includes rose petals that are scattered with the cremated remains. Once completed, your family will be provided with an artistic, framed photo of the water, showing your loved one's final resting place on the river, along with a certificate bearing the date, time and coordinates of where the scattering took place.
